Brockham Barns

Designed by Ensoul & Made by Mark Antony

An entire complex of traditional barns in need of full-scale refurbishment, set in the picturesque Surrey countryside was the starting point for this project. Development company Jedris approached us to design, produce and install bespoke woodwork throughout the interior, as well as the exterior.

Enhancing the traditional features as much as possible was vital to the aesthetic of this project.  We hand selected finishes to complement the wood and incorporated modern features into the design. The large barn doors, scaling the full length of the building, were made a focal point. To make the most of these, whilst ensuring the building was practical for everyday use, we designed bespoke double doors for both ground level and the first floor. From the exterior, the two floors appear to be separated only by a singular glass panel - a contemporary touch perfectly balanced with the conventional style of the barn.

One of the first in this country, an elegant counter-level staircase was designed and purpose built by us. Stunning from a style perspective, this modern, stand out feature also creates flow through the property on a functional level. Proud to have produced something so unique, this piece was both a highlight for the team as well as the client.

Truly distinctive

From large windows and doors through to small cupboards and fitted furniture, we considered every detail of this project. Our passion for the craft and desire to produce exquisite work is what fuelled this project and ultimately what led to the result - a remarkable set of truly distinctive buildings with striking, handmade woodwork throughout every facet.
